"Tunnel Vision"

The scenic Chester County covered bridge has been out of service since November 2011 when a tractor trailer hauling steel crossed it, causing major structural damage. Though closed to vehicle traffic, cyclists and walkers still may cross.

The 75' bridge is on the National Historic Register and is steeped in political and legal ownership squabbles as to who is responsible for its repair and how authentically the restoration should be completed.

At one time Chester County had 85 covered bridges. Today, only approximately 15 remain.

Luckily, it is still a safe crossing for cyclists and walkers and brings you out into the Doe Run/King Ranch area near Unionville, PA. It's some of the most beautiful cycling roads you will find in our area.
