31 V-Drum Sander with Fence in Place

Pearland, Texas

I found out very quickly that "as is" the V-Drum Sander needed a fence (aka: Edge Sanding Guide) to assist in sanding the edges of material square. I had some scraps of 3/4" MDF that were 5-3/4" wide, so I cut them to fit across the table top and glued them together at a right angle with some 90 degree braces. The accuracy of the finished product is excellent - right on 90 degrees. I'll put in some screws later when I have the time.

Here you can see the fence held in place by a couple of Irwin clamps as a piece of black walnut is being edge sanded. How did I ever get along without Quick Clamps??? They are so easy and fast to use.

This fence is such a pleasure to use. In fact, I'd say that this V-Drum Sander is now as good as they get at any price :-)
