A busy day today so this photo of the Ice House in Dundalk was shot t through the park railings while I was out covering the bustlings for the forthcoming local election.
The attractive park was laid out in 1994 and involved the restoration of an existing derelict area of parkland. The works were commissioned by Dundalk Urban District Council and funded by the Naughton Family Trust. The parkland dates from the 17th century and contains a double-vaulted ice chamber which was used to store out for the nearby Big House.
