Four images of an elusive Mink. My first Mink shots in the wild.
Whilst looking for Warblers, one in our group saw a Mink running across the road towards the lake and, then swim to a small island, not far from shore, where a Goose was nesting. On the island,it darted in and out of the rocks and scrubs, allowing for little chance to get good shots as it always seemed to be behind branches and rocks. It confronted the Goose and its mate, but was chased off by them. It then went back into the water, swam to the road, then ran up the embankment and across the road again. I managed about six, not wall-hanger shots, but I'll take them as a first.
Top image: The Mink going back into the water. This was taken at 400 mm.
The Mink, on the island, taking a breather to do some scratching and to look us over. This and the images below were taken at 195 mm. Because the Mink was so fast, I zoomed out for a better chance at getting the whole Mink in the frame instead of just getting the tail or head.
Starting its dash up the embankment and then across the road.
Continuing on towards the road.
