Holland America's Zaandam crossing rough water of the Drake Passage south of Cape Horn on its return trip from Shetland Islands/Antarctic Peninsula. Image is taken facing south (toward stern of the ship through a window of the Crow's Nest Bar at front of ship). Winds from west at 50 mph and 30-foot seas prevented anyone from being outside on the decks of the ship. Notice that the ship is leaning (listing)toward the east. The rough seas prevented the ship from circling Cape Horn Island, so instead we headed directly for the east end of the Beagle Channel.
