As a holiday surprise for my step-daughter and her family, I made a fairly wild set of placements (and a companion table runner - see in "Runners" gallery). The colors and fabric print are perfect for her modern-style dining room. This shows the importance of fabric selection. With a print such as these are made of, the pattern design of the placemat gets lost in the fabric print. Still looks great, but it is a different look.
