I'm now at the overlook at the top of Multnomah Falls. Normally on a day like this, at this time of day there will be 50 people jammed on this platform, but I was the only one there, because the bridge looking up from the base of Multnomah Falls down by the highway has collapsed and is under repair, so the Larch Mt. Trail is much harder to get to right now, and I'm a benefactor to common laziness. That's Interstate 84 down there next to the Columbia River. And yes, you can hear trains running by all along trailheads along the Columbia River.
