K , I was panning as well. Without panning them 1/1000 is not fast enough. I'll stick another in pending where I captured two that were flying at each other. I got lucky and got 2 in the same frame; the one I was tracking was in pretty good focus, the other was a bit blurred. Jim

Thanks guys. My trying to shoot BIF (birds in flight) paid off. These guys flew by fast and close -- and were very tough to track. Jim

This is a new fiscal year. The air show probably attracted close to 200,000 people today. I have a lot of spectacular shots I have to sort and work through. Jim

I must be behind the times because the last I knew the pentagon stopped public airshows due to budget restraints. Go figure! Paul
