Mt. Hood was fairly clear when I took this and the next several images of downtown Portland. Unfortunately for me, a couple hours later it became spectacularly clear. Still had to do considerable post processing with Lightroom to get this much detail out of it. What helped is I took full advantage of the polarizing filter I always keep on my 75-300mm Olympus lens, in all of these telephoto shots from the Pittock Mansion overlook. You can tell by the rich colors and contrast in the distant trees and downtown sky scrapers.
