Gopher laying low and on the right, owl more obvious on the left. These two were probably 50 yds away or so, so this is a big crop. But the interaction of the two species was priceless. The gopher thought he would bluff charge the owl, the owl wasn't budging any more than it took to lean over and fluff up (rouse sp?) like a puffer fish and stare the gopher in the eye with eye's much bigger than his!! The gopher eventually gave up which was probably a smart thing on his part. Smartest move all day probably!
