The letters on the wall are the original German Reich sign "this way to the air raid shelter." The picture was taken in a derelict German wehrmacht officer casino, built before WW2, which was then used for fifty years by the Soviet Army. In 1993, after withdrawal of the Russians it was turned over the the local polish municipality, sold to a foreign investor, and fell into disrepair. Through all those years, the lettering remained in good condition, amazing given that the building served for half a century as a Russian officer club.
