Theatrical performances have a long history in Mainz going back some 2,000 (!) years to Roman times.
With the completion of the new construction of the Small House in 1997 and the complete renovation
and re-opening of the Large Theater in 2001, Mainz boasts a thoroughly modern and state-of-the-art
stage technology housed in the buildings designed by Georg Moller.
