On Rabbitbrush (Ericameria nauseosa). A member of the family Halictidae (Sweat Bees), these are ground nesting bees that produce two generations per year. The summer generation is almost all female and the Fall generation is both male and female. The males die in winter but the fertilized females overwinter and produce the next summer generation.
