From my research to date, this little Railway Motor car, affectionately referred to as a Speeder, is powered by a little 2-cycle engine and sports around 5 gallons of fuel giving this alternative to hand powered travel a range of around 250 miles.
The electrical system on these small vehicles are typically 6V at around 15amps! That gives a little more than 6 amps (~ 40 watts) for the two front headlamps, about 2 amps for the taillamp, 4 amps for a stop lamp and barely anything for the ignition system! With this barely visible on-board lighting system I would guess not many folks worked after sunset!
