Originally misidentified as a Hoffman's Woodpecker, but an anonymous viewer suggested that I reconsider. Hoffman's Woodpecker does not
usually range as far south in Costa Rica as the location where I found this bird, and the reddish belly
is a characteristic of Red-crowned, but not Hoffman's. So I accept the reviewer's suggestion, thanks.
