Under the stairway at the south end of the solarium, Mr. Eastman had a 1903 organ installed, the most modern of its kind, which featured an autoplay feature using paper rolls, just like a player piano. Eastman had a musician play the organ for several hours a day, especially as he was arising. If he wanted music at other times he used the paper rolls. He was especially fond of Bach.
