Cardboard container that is no more

This box contained a Teac A-4300 reel-to-reel tape deck that I bought at a military audio-photo club in Germany in 1975 (cost: $408). In 1978 it held the tape deck for a second time, during a move from Germany to the States. Then it spent 29 years in storage, holding nothing but packing material and air. At some point it got wet but I can’t remember the circumstances.

All that time I was holding on to it in case I had a need to box up the tape deck again. In 2007 I came to my senses, realizing that it would never again hold the tape deck or anything else. I cut it up and recycled the pieces. I still have the tape deck, but it is inoperable.

Teac is still around. I would guess the drive belts need to be replaced.

You maybe should ask Microsoft about your tape deck.
They can fix anything.
