V-Drum Sander - 28 - An Ounce of Prevention

Pearland, Texas

Not everything is peaches and cream with using the V-Drum Sander. I made a couple of bone-headed mistakes. They are both posted here for you to see and learn from ;-)

The wrinkle is what happens when the open-mesh sanding material is put on too loosely. I had a feeling about it being a wee bit loose in one area, but I did nothing about it. This is what happens when laziness takes over...

The loading of the mesh was caused by damp sapwood on some old walnut cut-offs that I wanted to take a quick look at. I knew that the walnut pieces were still damp as I had washed them to clean off the sand and clay only 2 days previously. This "stuff" is like concrete now in the mesh - not a good idea. So, my only words of wisdom here are to make certain that you are sanding relatively dry material :-)
