Green, White and Gold

Thousands of people lined the streets of Dundalk for the St Patrick's Day parade today.
It was a wonderful representation of Ireland in the 21st century, a multi-cultural Ireland proud of its traditions and looking to the future as well as the past.
I was working today but luckily had to cover the parade so managed to take photos as well.
Sorry - I'm way behind with commenting but life is busy at the moment.

I love diversity and change. So nice to see the celebrations attain a wider and more rich base.

Marvelous color in this excellent capture, and definitely an indication of Ireland's multicultural identity. V.

there's a full frame rife with a vital pulse...Madame does indeed sport the colours of the flag, yet her hat perhaps hints at influences from her own previous cultural environment...encouraging to see Ireland is opening up to the world, and re-assuring that, despite the country's own economic challenges, it is perceived as a desirable destination for people seeking a better life..

A heart warming day I'm sure...this is lovely and she's looking straight down the barrel V
