I have a suspicion that the Angel 99 thing was from a Joss Whedon fan. I recall that the series Angel (spin off from Buffy The Vampire Slayer) first aired in late 1999, only because I saw the first episode one night in L.A. on my one and thus far only trip to the US. The hotel was a bit more comfortable than this, as best I recall. I like the series of angles in this; the steep one of the stairs, the slightly less step one of the roof of the entranceway, the even shallower one of the bottom of the awning (for want of a better word) and then the relative flatness of the ground.

What a fascinating find! One can't help but wonder who Angel '99 was and how the chair came to be there. I love the diagonal of the stairs running through the frame in particular. V.
