Judge's Comment:
I like the concept for the very tight look at the cormorant. They have amazing eyes. I think a crop from the left makes the image even stronger. The biggest issue is image quality. Looks like a big crop and the image doesn’t hold up to the crop. ISO 1600 held up pretty well, but overall sharpness didn’t, especially in the eye which is critical to the success of this image and the concept.
