Browsing White Tail Deer

Silver Lake Nature Center - Bristol, PA

Due to the Winter snow cover deer have a limited food supply and resort to browsing on the tips of the forest underbrush.
With virtually no predators the deer herd increases rapidly and as a result their browsing can quickly destroy the forest floor and trees as high as they can reach.
So between deer and man it becomes a love hate relationship. The deer are beautiful animals, but they can become very destructive in the parks and surrounding neighborhoods.
