Angelica (Angelica sylvestris)

This tall, non-native, member of the Carrot Family (in some field guides listed as being in the Parsley Family)was found growing south of the city. Plants can grow up to 9 feet. There are only a few locations, that I am aware of anyway, in and around the Ottawa district.

Nice find and capture, Christine. I think we had a related member sprout up as a volunteer in our front yard this past Spring. The flower head is beautiful when fully opened.

The family tree is surprising, but looks gorgeous. V

Geez I'm looking forward to Spring, love you shot. We do have Angelicas in the gardens here, near Quebec City.

Such a delicate plant, and interesting that it's a member of the parsley family. Beautiful closeup with an excellent DOF. V.
