Franconia Notch, Flume Gorge, NH

In God's wildness lies the hope of the world - the great fresh unblighted, unredeemed wilderness.
The galling harness of civilization drops off, and wounds heal ere we are aware.
- John Muir, John of the Mountains, 1938

civilization is evident here, but not to the detriment of the more natural scene...the name is intriguing...the Cunard liner Franconia brought my mother and myself from Ireland to Canada some decades ago..

Beautifully composed with perfect time value. Reminds me of a trail I used to walk to work on many years ago.

A great colourful view, Anitta. And I like the John Muir quote. He was born just down the road from me.
