Black Bear Cub
This black bear cub was one of three plus their mama I encountered at Maligne Lake, in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. We spotted the sow approaching some park staff cabins and pulled over to the side of the road to observe. Holy cow, wouldn't ya know it she and the three cubs came right over to where I stopped and the cubs proceeded to climb the tree RIGHT in front of me! Wow, what an incredible experience to be able to watch the cubs play, frolic about, climb the tree and ultimately mama bear stand up on the trunk of the tree and vocally call the kids back down. Truly one of the greatest wildlife experiences I've ever witnessed!
