Northern Red Oak

#10 Trees

Softly snowing.

'Quercus rubra'
A few leaves still cling to a young oak in my wooded backyard.
Planted by the drop of an acorn by some welcome critter.
Several smaller oak saplings grow in the same clearing.
In a decade or two I'll have an oak grove!

Our Red oaks keep the dead leaves late into the winter too. They don't want to go naked! I like this composition!

The leaves are like ornaments on this pretty tree. A wonderful winter scene. V.
