I rarely insert myself into a landscape pic. This sunset was the most colourful I
have seen over Shuswap Lake in the Southern Interior of BC since we moved here
in 2007.
I have not added colour saturation. I added two gradients, one for the sky and
one for the lake and each time reduced saturation. My shooting partner and I
were stunned by the surreal look and colour of the clouds. I was feeling lazy and
she had to twist my arm to get me out. I would have felt sick to have missed this
yet the lead up to it was completely bland with no hint of what was to unfold.
Once I sat on the ice it was too slippery to stand again, I had to slide myself back to my camera.
