Norfolk Pine for Janice in New Zealand

Galveston Island, Texas

This Norfolk Island Pine was damaged in a bad hurricane 5 years ago, but as you can see, it is still growing!

Trees by Aileen Fisher
Trees just stand around all day
and sun themselves and rest.

They never walk or run away
and surely that is best.

For otherwise how would a
squirrel or robin find its nest?

Very similar to many of our beach-side towns, pines & palms. Lovely shot.

I have a small one in my living room that was given to me as a sprig when I was in Cancer Treatment back in 1999. Wish we had the weather to put it outside. Love the poem, too. Of course according to the Chronicles of Narnia, the trees can and do walk. :-)
