Floods

A major storm caused havoc as it passed over Ireland yesterday extensive flooding in Cork, Galway, and Dublin as well as coastal towns and villages.
The tidal surge send water flowing over the dyke which protects the area where we life - luckily the floodwaters stopped about 30 yards from our home.
Too close for comfort and there are further storms and high tides forecast over the coming days.

It's a reminder that though we often lull ourselves into thinking that nature has boundaries - the shore over here, the river over there, etrc - nature feels no obligation to comply with them. The strong bias toward shadow tones in this adds an aura of menace.

Almost literally under the weather!

This pasture looks familiar, perhaps from sheep photos in the past. I certainly hope you don't have a flood in your home. Stay safe!

the creeping threat sounds alarming...pity about Cork and Galway, two of Ireland's urban gems....best of luck against the tides, an admirable representation that you got out there anyway..

Wow, this is scary! I'm glad to hear you avoided flooding this time, and hope that holds out in the storms to come.

Very dramatic capture of the flooding. 30 yards from your house is way too close for comfort. I hope it stays back. V
