This small chantry chapel attached to the Lady chapel demonstrates that you do not need a vast space to deploy accomplished design. The fan vaulting is in fact slightly more polished than that of the cloisters where it is claimed to have been invented and includes the Gloucester 'party piece' of balancing a vault base on an ogee arch. There seems absolutely no functional need to do it here and one would suspect a trial run for the ones in the tower, except that the dating is all wrong
