The original name of the square was "Consuelo" in the XV century, and later, in the sixteenth century, it was known as the Pozo Seco, and from 1830 this square takes its present name Square of the Alliance for a popular tavern and call now vanished.
According to the legend of Don Juan Tenorio is said that the house of Doņa Ana de Pantoja was in this square. It is a busy place with tourists and from it a magnificent view of La Giralda is contemplated.
