The Stilt had just taken off trying to flee
a gull that had spotted its catch and attacked.
The gull won; the Stilt dropped the prized worm
on the water and the gull flew down to eat it.

I remember the unpleasantness of using Blood Worms
as bait when I used to fish the bay and ocean. They
have a poisonous bite; they sure do.
