29-Dec-2013

After a cold bright start to the day, the weather went rapidly downhill.
So, apart from taking Fudge for his daily walks, we spent the day at home.
I checked out some recipes from the newest recipe book to join my ever-growing collection - Donal Skehan's Homecooked which was a much appreciated Christmas gift.

Sounds like a great way to spend a winter day. Lovely still life and I like the warmth of the fire in the background. V.

When I saw the thumbnail I originally thought "board game" but I should have realised that "book" is more your style. (I was almost going to say "cookbook doubly so" but then realised that that wouldn't be the case; gardening, home wares, classics, modern literature... all are pretty much on a par in your case.) I like the triangular arrangement with the fire, book and flower; all three together give a "warm home in winter" feel.

You will have to feature the first recipe you try from the book. Nice homely photo and I love the flowers. v

an appetizing home scene...grey, rainy, and dreary here too, so the afternoon is set for conjuring up a hearty veal stew...have to keep the home fires burning, both within and without..
