There were two sets of shots taken this day. The first was of the smoke haze that had settled over the Wollongong CBD following the bushfires that were mentioned in the PAD for the 17th. However the Olympus didn't quite come to terms with the dynamic range in that one and too much was lost in the shadows. Nor could I get the shot that I wanted which would have been from the centre of the street. No, not because of traffic - there was hardly any at that time of the morning so I could have done it provided that I was quick - but rather because of the woman at the bus stop opposite who was screaming "Ah ya F'in C, ya gotta be F'in joking! You're all F'in Cs!" No, the words were not contracted like that. The source of her displeasure may have been me, or it may have been the bus that didn't pick her up (notwithstanding that it wasn't a bus that stopped there), or it may have been the drugs, or it may have been flat out mental health issues. Whatever it was I felt disinclined to get involved and shot from my side of the road.
However a better opportunity presented itself later anyway. After breakfast it was time to head to one of the ultimate man-caves, Bunnings Warehouse. Power tools, hand tools, hardware as far as the eye can see! And who could pass up an opportunity to check out the chainsaw section! (I have a Ryobi, myself; actually many Ryobis. Mower, chain saw, lawn edger, whipper snipper...) All 36 volt electrical since I hate sodding 2 stroke engines with a passion and 4 strokes aren't exactly the business for most of those things.
Still, it’s always nice to check out the other toys that are available. Er, tools, I meant tools...
