Feeding the birds on Christmas day

We'd barely got out of the car at the Mer Bleue area, when a flock of about 10 chickadees flew in. Stephen put some seeds in his hand and bravely stood there in the very cold weather for about 10 minutes until his hand turned to ice, and the chickadees had taken all the seeds.

A fine capture, Chickadees are friendliest of birds and seem to like the warmth of ones hand, especially with food involved!!!!

It's such a cool feeling when they land on your hand, look right at you and then take a seed and fly away :-)

Such a lovely experience.
With us being away for nearly three weeks we have not encouraged the birds too much,
When we get back it will be bird food overload!

Fantastic. I have a female Blackbird that is close to doing that but still she doesn't have the courage. V

Very nice! I made sure the birds ate well today too, and put out some cut up apples for the four bunnies that visited this evening. :-)
