Total Concentration

This Great Blue Heron was so intent on its prey that it didn't even notice me sneaking up on it. I was able to get pretty close for this shot, made at Alton Baker Park. How those skinny legs hold them up is amazing to me.

Best heron shot I've seen I think. I love the light on the head and the background looks like a painting. It's like the bird is coming out of the frame!

This shot is very unusual. I have never seen a Heron in this pose and shot at this angle. I think this could be a prize winning photo! You caught this bird clearly and with a perfect pose.
