Was driving around this evening after work to look for a homeless lady by the name of Jerrilynn that I am trying to help. While looking for her in her usual spot to take her dinner, I saw these toilets in the window of a shop nearby so I got a pic of the day. LOL
I never did locate my friend and just pray she is somewhere warm and safe. She's a very intelligent lady and is trying her hardest to get her life in order. She's trying to enroll in a local junior college and they are working to get her into a program. I just really felt God tugging at my heart reminding me I have a spare room with a bed, a second bathroom and food in my house and it is warm, dry and safe. I was going to offer her a place to spend the night out of the cold but she was nowhere to be found. I would not normally do this but knowing her and how she got there just tore me up and I know she is a good person.
She's one of those that lost her job 3 years ago and wasn't able to find another one and ended up homeless. She doesn't like the shelters because she has been molested, robbed and beaten up so she is staying in an area near where I work where there is not a very large homeless population. She just wants to work and get a place of her own and she's trying to get training so she can find a decent job. No family to speak of. It's just sad. I'll continue to search for her to make sure she is okay and do what I can to help her.
