A short walk from the Grand arch. This dam was built to provide water as well as feed a small hydroelectric plant which was one of the first in the world. The electricity illuminated the many caves for the tourists starting 100 years ago. Jenolan Caves was one of the first tourist caves to use electric lights for the tourist visits, it has now switched to LED lighting for sustainability and efficiency.
