Pyramid Rock is the name given to a basalt formation located offshore at the end of Pyramid Rd, Phillip Island.
Pyramid Rock itself is a pyramid-shaped tumble of rocks, a remnant of a lava flow that once connected the main outcrop in the foreground to the shore platform.
The pinkish rocks at the base of Pyramid Rock are Devonian Woolamai Granite. These are overlain by black columnar basalts of the Flinders Subprovince.
The home of the Pyramid Rock Festival, one of Australia's premier festivals, it's an area of incredible natural beauty
