another symbol of the past gone. Now it's all cell phones and hot spots! We have a phone booth off the highway in out city, in the back of a Mcdonalds parking lot. I call it the death phone. We get transients and mental people calling 911 saying they are going to kill themselves from this one pay phone a couple times a month (Always when I am working on duty). Anyhow, they are druggies, or homeless and always never want to do themselves in, rather get shelter and a meal- but they use the suicide claim to spark interest in them to merit assistance! Sad! This is how I relate to ALL pay phones now….
