The Terrace of Elephants' retaining wall in Angkor Thom showing elephants & riders (mahouts) - Siem Reap Province, Cambodia

This terrace originally was used by the ancient King Jayavarman VII to view various events (parades, performances, armies, etc.).
Angkor Thom ("Great City") was the walled and fortified capital city of the last Khmer empire. It was built in the 12th century c.e. by King Jayavarman VII.
