Interesting illustration of nature not behaving as intended

Marvelous place and landscape, great view and perspective...they winter over in Toronto here and the mallard stay all winter because people feed them pails of corn... not a good idea

Believe it or not, they get down here as pests, too.
I know I'd start bailing when the lake starts looking like that.
Nearing time, for Arizona, Cindy?

Great pic, but sorry to read all the comments. We have had some of your Canada geese arrive here and multiply and they are annoying many of our farmers too

I'm surprised they can winter over there, Cindy! They have become a big nuisance
here in Seattle, too. Seems like there are two varieties, one that actually
migrates and one that lives here year round.

A pretty photo of a big problem Cindy.
Your geese and our parrots are a big problem, especially for farmers.

Lynn, No one feeds them! They are a huge problem around here. They have it made here in the summer, with parks, farms, and lovely ponds like this. There are two large protected marshes nearby. When we moved into our house, there was a farmer's field planted with winter wheat behind us. The geese came in and picked that field clean in a day. No wheat was ever harvested. The city owns this lake. They have tried "hiring" people to walk large dogs around the lake to discourage the geese, but to no avail. They just fly off, only to return when the dog is gone.

People been feeding them??? Poor things. It is very cold here in the south, so the geese that already got here are disappointed. :)
