Boston View

Boston, MA

*** Best view at original size ***

The twilight view of downtown Boston from my hotel room during a recent business trip.
The windows of the room were pretty dirty but I was fortunate to be able to open
the window about 4 inches, which was enough for a clear view. The next challenge
was what to use as a "tripod" for a long exposure. I took one of the dresser drawers
and stood it on its side, using a couple of magazines as shims to aim the camera
up from the hotel's parking garage. The temps were too frigid and the wind too much
for me to even consider going out to get other shots (and I didn't bring a tripod).

I will post a few more images from this perspective as I was able to get some
different shots during each of my three days there.

What a striking image of Boston. I really like what you have done. You have proven, why carry a tripod. Seem like you get it done any way. Great Work. V.

Ingenious, and a wonderful result! I'm going to remember this! I like to stay at the Custom House, which is the building in the middle with the clock on it. Very nice city scape especially with the pretty multi-colored sky.
