California Legal

...a note is necessary, because of my permanent and, at least to me...severe nerve damage (grim grin), I was given a legal prescription for the bud....this was not effective for me and so in cleaning out drawers this Friday evening a year later I was about to throw this away...but instead first took this picture.

I further note that just because this didn't work for me does not at all mean that it would not be effective for someone else, some other disease...I lastly emphasize that I support anything that helps anyone deal with pain and the debilities of life.

A metaphor for sparky...you know in a Science Fiction Movie when the electrical grid is damaged, transformers explode, wires fall, sparks spark and fly, the sky lights up with furious embers...that's what happened inside my body, for weeks at a 103 Degree Temp. I like this explanation; it resonates as true to me

Beautiful shot and processing. I thought the blue on the left was a yo-yo, until I read your comment :).
As for recreational drugs, I live in Colorado, where recreational pot is newly legal. Here in Boulder, some of the medical marijuana dispensaries will also start selling recreational pot in March. In Denver, it will happen in January. I'm hoping that the tax revenues will really go to education (I teach at the University of Colorado, which receives fully 4% of its funding from the state), especially since the state just rejected a tax increase to help fund schools. I'm in favor of legalization of at least pot, but I have also seen lives ruined by (harder) drugs, including those of friends and family. It's a thorny issue, but I think history has shown us that prohibition rarely achieves the, sometimes worthy, goals of its proponents.

The color balance is something I consciously worked on before the shot....and, amazingly, the very first shot was fine, perfect. I tried other angles, off camera flash....no, the first shot worked.

I will add that the blue you refer to is an antique, porcelain glazed, Cambodian Opium smoker....lol....and the elephant to the right is carved from dark teak wood and is from Thailand.

This has caused me to think about opinion on drugs....recreational....I really don't care what people do, and yet, I have seen drugs utterly ruin lots of very bright lives. Hummmm...Could I be wrong?

PS for Paul....that is a long course of antibiotics...I of course have the same condition, (ah we manly men....lol), but I don't think I took the course of drugs for more than three weeks....I wish you well with this.

Best Wishes, Traveller

Great shot. The blue in the background really draws my eye to the main subject.

Hey don't throw that stuff away, the guy upstairs in 3B will buy it off you for $50.00 and that's 1/2/ the way to a decent filter.

What's funny is for a challenge on another site I shot something similar, not weed of course but rather antibiotics since I've been diagnosed with chronic bacterial prostatitis. I can't get rid of it! I've been on one antibiotic for 6 weeks, that knocked it down but not out sooooo now we're on another for 8 weeks. I'll check to see if I shot one in narrow DOF and place it in exhibition. Paul "The card carrying master electrician"
