November 22

50 Years
Fifty years ago today, I was in class at school.
The Principal came to the door and asked to talk to the Teacher outside in the hall.
A few minutes later, the Teacher re-entered the room, crying and very disturbed.
She gathered us up and we all moved to the school's auditorium.
There, the Principal told us that the President was dead.

In Australia, morning in our kitchen, my family preparing for the day ahead with the morning radio on for the news. Open grieving with lots of tears, sadness and disbelief....

Everyone remember where they were that day. I was in school too. Great tribute for this tragic anniversary.

In the Netherlands it was early in the evening. I remember listening to the news on the radio with my parents. We were all in shock!

Even here, we could not believe what happened - he was such a much-loved president...

Same here. In class when an announcement over the PA came from the Dean.
We spent the rest of the day huddled around a TV to learn what we could
about this traumatic event. Sad day! The air was charged with reactions.
