The Rioja Alavesa has over 13.500 hectares of vineyards, with a production of 40 million liters of wine per year. The wines, elaborated under strict measures of quality, dictated by the Regulating Counsel of Rioja, are internationally renowned for their prestige. The quality of the bouillons is due, in great measure, to the clay soils, the weather and the setting of the vineyards behind the mountains of the Sierra, as well as to the dedication of its people and their attention in the perfect conjugation of history and novelty. Most of the wine is made from Tempranillo, a kind of grape made to grow cid, strong in color yet moderate in acidity. Other varieties you will find are: viura, garnacha, mazuelo, graciano, white garnacha and malvasía. As main characteristics in the extraordinary red wine of the Rioja Alavesa we can count the bright colors, fine scents, fruity flavors and exquisite taste. Its alcoholic content oscillates from 11 to 13 degrees.
