Never get tired of this view from my work!
After many rainy days the twilight was today so pretty.
Luckily when leaving from work had my little G12 with me to be able to capture this scene.
You can see some new additions of lamps to our Illuminations on the right hand side.
Tampere Illuminations brighten up winter’s darkest months every year with some 165 fantastic light figures consisting of 23,000 led bulbs hung high above the city streets.
Three months of bright-colored lights and the warmth and joy they reflect on the city streets make Tampere the City of Light.
The lights lift the spirits and illuminate the streets in this much loved tradition.
The illuminations first sparked into life in 1965 as part of an enlightened initiative from the city’s Town Council.
So this year it is the 48th time for the Illuminations – a long history and tradition.
It’s still a popular phenomenon both with Tampere’s 210,000 residents and with travelers from across the globe.
