On one of the first Saturdays in September, the “Open Doors Day” is held where all the winemakers open up to visitors and the town celebrates this day with festivities based on wine and its culture.
Visits to the wineries can be via a tourist train that travels around the town, so they can see the town, its ancestral homes, the church dedicated to St. Esteban Protomartyr, etc. Wine tasting and traditional dishes are also served and there are exhibitions of traditional utensils used for winemaking, painting, sculpturing and a visit to a 17th century winery, as well as the possibility of taking part in wine tasting. It is a true “open doors days” that allows people to discover the cultural wealth of this winemaking region.
