Roman Wine Basins

Ungstein, German Wine Road

Remnants of Roman settlements in the 1st Century AC were found in midst of the
vineyards. The basins show that the Romans pressed the grapes with their feet.

Interesting, I guess all that foot stomping gave it a special flavor. I like the shadow lines in this shot. V
