Spud Local, approaching Quincy

view map

"Spud Local" is an informal name given to a freight train service that originates in Wenatchee, Washington. It runs east to the cities of Quincy and Ephrata, serving mostly agricultural businesses. Potatoes are one of the crops grown here. This shot shows the train ascending the grade to Quincy, having just come out of the top end of Crater Coulee.
